Traditional Garden Design With A Modern Twist

Tommy and I really enjoyed creating this garden together. We like to ensure our designs really compliment the existing property and bring everything together, the barn was a lovely backdrop to work with.

Custom-Built Brick Fire Pit

My favourite part has to be the custom-built brick fire pit, overlooking the fields. The thing I love about this bespoke fire pit is that it isn’t gas, it's a real wood-burning fire pit so we were able to add log storage under the coffee table, giving a somewhat rustic feel.

Tommys favourite feature….you guessed it! The outdoor Kitchen, and what a beauty with a dribble fridge, large grill, and pizza oven, the ideal spot for entertaining.

We named this garden moditional, as we tried to keep the design traditional to compliment the barn but with a modern touch.

Below is a little write-up on the design and what we did with the space. This Luxury Garden has been carefully executed to suit the modern-day family, creating a practical yet stunning place to enjoy.

The existing barn has a large glass rear extension so we have placed a cut-in planting bed with a designer Orbis bowl in the center to create a focal point from the property.

We have included a relaxing sofa area where you can enjoy the warmth from the bespoke log fire coffee table in the evening and by day time a spot to take in the beautiful views. This area lends itself to a water feature adding further to the relaxing ambiance.

Bistro Seating Area

An additional bistro seating area has been placed nearby, wrapped with planting to create a more intimate spot, perhaps an area for an early morning coffee or alfresco breakfast.

To the rear of the garden, there is an existing outbuilding with an open pergola, with the option of a watertight roof that makes for the perfect spot to entertain. An L-shaped sofa with a coffee table works well with vertical natural cladding working as a backdrop and creating contrast. Leading on we have included a bespoke brick-built bbq/bar area to tie in with the design.

Take a short stroll through the feature stepping stones with fragrant smells from the herb garden. A dedicated area for growing your own vegetables and herbs. Following closely is the child's play area where the adults can keep a close eye on the children even from Indoors. This area is softened by the play bark and planting. Italian cypress trees act as a divide but also add some drama.

Large Grass Area

To the side of the house, we have left a large grass area for the family to enjoy garden games together. We have designed a path and some screening of evergreen trees to the rear right of the garden, in front of the existing fence we have installed English yew hedging to cover the existing fence and soften the boundary.

Overall this garden sees traditional meet modern, creating a stunning and timeless garden for the entire family to enjoy for years to come.
